Tonights fights were amazing. Jeff won by Arm triangle in the 1st round. Jeff fought the PERFECT fight. Aswesom takedaown to side mount to mount to Arm triangle. Takedowan was awesome, ducked the over hand right to great double leg to slam right into sidemount, pefect mout to arm triangle.
My fight was a very good fight, but I lost to arm bar late in the 3rd. I watched the video and im very proud of this fight. My opponent was 10-1 and making his last ameture fight before going pro. I gave him all he could handle including a very good takedown in the first, but I was reversed into bottom half guard. I got full guard went for several subs but he was very wise to them all. I feel the first round was a toss up. I feel I won round two with take downs and top control but was unable to finish. The 3rd I feel was going my way with until I got caught with a good arm bar. Arm bar to tri angle to arm bar. It was a very good sub and I had to tap. I think my left is a little messed up but I think it will be ok. Great fight 2nd fight and Im very proud. Will be looking forward to Feb.
I cant thank Jeff enough…..his wrestling was at least 50% of this fight and my jiu jitsu was the other %50. A little more conditioning and I think I would have won that fight. I truely believe now more than ever our wrestling will really set us apart. Also thanks very much to westside MMA and Roli for cornering both Jeff and I and the Saturday morning training classes. I have learned alot from Saturday morning and the support is really great.

Truly great fights from both our guys. I’m proud to say I train with ConwayBJJ.
Great job guys. Together we are building a core group of fighters and a game that is highly affective in MMA. Today many gyms train striking and kickboxing. Now, we are taking it several steps further on those Saturday mornings. If we keep training hard, together we can produce one tough new fighter at a time while all getting better. Even when were done fighting ourselves, we need to continue showing up and working with guys one on one to make sure that we represent ourselves and the areas MMA to the best degree possible. I want a rematch for James really bad!!!!!!!!

Great job guys! I’d hate to be on the receiving end of that slam by Jeff! I thought James controlled the fight on the ground for most of the fight and had a good chance at winning the decision. Proud of both you guys!
If you had a taliban beard like Roli instead of a lumberjack beard you probably would have won.
Funny you say that, some dude came and shook my hand while I was eating and said “good luck at 105″ and walked away. I had no idea what he was talking about, till I thought later, he must have thought I was roli. NOW THAT worries me.
Helluva fight you guys gave this weekend! Both of y’all showed some great skill out there!

On a side note, Jeff threw 10 punches all of which landed.

I had an awesome time Saturday in my fight. It always helps when you win. I would like to thank everyone at Conway Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and West Side that helped me train for this fight. A special thanks to Roli for being my corner man along with Shawn. I look forward to continuing to train and work with everyone to become the best we can be. James will beat this guy the next time. We know exactly what to work on to take the next step.

congrats to both jeff and james! in my opinion you’re both winners. they were both great and exciting fights. just goes to show that conway bjj is THE school to train at in conway.

Definitely outstanding performances on both accounts, guys! I agree with everyone. James, I think you were for sure ahead in the scorecards the whole fight. And Jeff…. man…. that slam hurt me to watch. Im honestly surprised the fight went on as long as it did after it. haha.
On a side note,Hopefully I’ll be able to return soon when my vaginitus heals
wow, i’m pretty late on this. i just watched these for the first time. really good job guys. james, i honestly thought you would have won that fight. you were controlling it the majority of the time. that guy got lucky! you looked pretty tired. good fights though
