Our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program offers a complete system that will teach you the use of leverage to control and submit an opponent. Upon achieving positional dominance over your opponent you will then learn how to quickly and effectively end the fight with a simple choke or joint lock. Don’t worry if you are not particularly strong or athletic, Jiu-jitsu is based on leverage and body position, it is perfectly designed for a smaller individual to defeat a much larger and stronger opponent or attacker.
Jiu-jitsu is traditionally practiced with a uniform, known as a “gi” consisting of a jacket, pants and a belt. No-Gi jiu-jitsu, also known as Submission Wrestling, is simply jiu-jitsu practiced with a t-shirt or rash-guard and a pair of shorts. At Conwaybjj we focus on NO GI Jiu Jitsu designed to blend our superior submission skills with our strong wrestling base for a submission grappling style desgined for the cage, where there are no GIs.
With Wrestling now growing in Arkansas, ConwayBJJ is the gym to build the wrestling skills needed to compete in High school wrestling, submission Wrestling, or Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitions. A strong Wrestling background is also the most sought after skill for MMA.
